You made it! Remember to get total recovery points to me by the end of today. Try and get paid up, measured and photographed by Tuesday of next week. I will be putting up the finalized list of contenders on Wednesday. 🙂
The weekend is a great time to do some grocery shopping and food prep. Maybe try your hand at eating out with friends and family while making SMART choices. You could go for a hike, check out a yoga class, mobilize or even hit the hotsprings pool for some recovery points! I plan on grocery shopping today and will include pictures to help you with new ideas if you need. In the meantime, here are some really helpful resources for both grocery store navigation and eating out Glenwood Springs style. Keep up the good work! As always, email me if you have any questions, concerns or need me to look over your journal before Tuesday!
Precision Nutrition Grocery Store Survival Guide
Eat Out: GWS
Other GWS, “fast” options. These suggestions are good if you find yourself in a jam for lunch mid-week:
A salad with some sort of protein from pretty much anywhere will suffice. This covers places like Moe’s, Wendy’s, McDonalds, etc
19th Street Diner
Build Your Own Omelet. Include Avocado. Sub fruit for Potatoes.
Build your Own Burger. Leave Bun. Sub side salad for fries. Add topping like avocado, egg, bacon, mushrooms. Double patty if still hungry.
Pretty much any sandwich is going to be “ok.” Sub lettuce wrap for the bun. Leave the chips and soda there 🙂
Any burger. I always double the meat and ask for it salad style. Toppings are endless. Get the apple and pear fries on the side.
Slope and Hatch
Any taco combination is pretty much ok. Ask for them in the lettuce cups. Leave the chips and double the tacos.
Taqueria El Nopal
Fajitas. Double the meat, double the veggies. Leave the rice, tortillas and beans.
Naked Burrito (bowl style) extra veggies, extra meat, guacamole, pico, small amount of black beans. Leave out the rice, cheese, sour cream, tortilla.
Any salad. Add meat.
Yushan Chicken, no sauce
Beef and Broccoli, no sauce
Steamed Chicken and Broccoli
Black Pepper Beef
Thai Basil Chicken
Pretty much the whole menu is a go. Sub out potatoes or grits for extra veggies or one of their small plate salads. They are extremely accommodating!!!
Steak. Potato. Vegetable
